  1. The head piece can also be called the crown piece. Thats the part behind their ears.

    Good luck with the test.

  2. bridle:

bit, cheekpieces, noseband/caveson, browband, reins, some bridles have a flash band (it wraps around the nose lower than the bit... to keep the mouth closed), the headstall is the whole top part that goes over the horses head, not including the bit.  That's 7 and I really don't remember anymore.

    saddle: (20?!?!)

pommel, cantle, seat, saddle flap, stirrup iron, stirrup leather, panel, knee roll, stirrup bar, skirt, billets, keeper, D-ring, twist, gullet... that's only 15, but I really don't know anymore...  here's a link to a picture with some labeled parts: http://www.equusite.com/articles/basics/...

    good luck!

  3. Bridle, starting from the top, head piece, browband, cheek pieces, bit, noseband (of which there are several types), reins.

Saddle pommel, waist, seat, cantle, skirt, surcingle loop, saddle flap, knee roll, thigh roll, girth straps, buckle guard, stirrup bar, stirrup leather, stirrup iron, panel, gullet/channel.  I guess you could also count the tree as a saddle part.

The best way to learn is from pictures as you will probably be asked to identify these parts.  Are you a member of The Pony Club?  If so their Manual of Horsemanship will have everything you need.  Otherwise try these links:
