  1. Yes PennFoster is "for real". You can find more info about them @ http://www.pennfoster.com/diploma/index....

You'd have to pay though for their programme - can you afford school fees or are your parents able and willing to pay for you? I'm not from America but, from what I've learnt here, there are other schools like K12 that can help you get your diploma for free.

Also consider what happened to lead to your dropping out of school. You have to be very motivated and self disciplined to get anything out of homeschooling programmes like Pennfoster's.

Plus some conventional schools will work with you so you can still get your qualifications by, for instance, letting you work through their programme independently at home. Unless relations between you and the school are irretrievable, it might be worth your while going back and just talking to them and seeing if there is anything they can do for you.

  2. 16 year old drop out... future is looking like you will be talking to people through a speaker is a clown's head at a fast food drive thru...

  3. Penn Foster is for real, but a better choice would be either Alpha Omega Academy http://www.aopacademy.com  or http://www.edanywhere.com

  4. Why not go back to high school?  Or register again and ask to be put on a homeschooling program.  Can your parents help?

  5. why can't you go back to school to get normal high school degree. I am worried about your future. Why did you drop out?

  6. I don't know if 'pennforster.com' is real, but the online school I am with [Alpha Omega Academy] is real.

  7. Go back to your school and request the independent study program or go to Barnes and Noble and pick up the G.E.D. study guide.  The school should still be willing to work with you and direct you.  Just going in and asking deserves respect.  Try it.

  8. yes, i'm homeschooled.
