Need help with second boy name?

Question

my first son is a Edward Earl Thurman Jr. we are thinking for our second so to be Ethan Earl Thurman. we like that they are similar, with the same initials, but my husband isn't sure he wants to keep our son and his middle name. i don't have a problem with it because me, my mom and one of my sisters have the same middle name. anyone think thats weird?

its quite common really so keep it if you want to.

my mom ,sister and niece all have a middle name in common.but mom actually went by her middle name which was Evelyn.

my sister is

Tracey Evelyn and her daughter is Grace Evelyn.

i also have a niece who has the middle name of Marie and gave it as a middle name to all three of her daughters.

at least they are real names and spelled correctly so that alone makes them classy!!! good luck!

its ok if thats ur preference..but personally id prefer if my future kids have different names..there are like millions of names to choose from..why choose the same ones..but if ur particular about names, i think keeping the same initials is cute..

No..... not at all.......My grama is crazy!!!! she is really holy and with all her kids she gave them the middle name Mary!!!!!!!!!! My dads Name is Martyn Mary and so are his 3 brothers!!!!!!!!! My sis is Carla Mary and i'm Zara Mary !!!!!!!!!

I think it's lovely to keep family names.

Just a thought, but it can sometimes be a pain having the same initials as another family member (eg. why did you open my letter?).

Maybe choose another strong traditional name with a different initial. James Earl Thurman sounds good.

personally, i don't like using the same middle name. your two names are way too similar.

I like how the first names are similar but I don't really like the second names being the same and since your first son is a junior that makes in less of a good idea cuz then his dad has it to so thats just not original if all the girls have the same name and all the boys have the same name too...
