Wie Sagt man....auf deustch?

Was bedeutet....?

i am taking German class but i didn't get the meaning of these words can someone help me please?......i know deustch means German (not sure though)..PLEASE HELP ME!?

Please note that Deutsch is written with 'tsch', not 'stch'.

As for the meaning:

- Wie sagt man ... auf Deutsch? = How do you say ... in German?

- Was bedeutet ...? = What does .... mean?

Wie sagt man..auf Deutsch? (notice Deutsch is capitilized because it is a noun.)--How do you say...in german?

Was bedeutet..? --what does....mean?

Was bedeutet ...? = What does ... mean?

Ex. Q: Was bedeutet "Apfel"? = What does "Apfel" mean?

Ex. A: "Apfel" bedeutet "apple". = "Apfel" means "apple".

but with "bedeutet" you could also ask for an explanation:

Ex. Q: Was bedeutet "Apfel"? = What does "Apfel" mean?

Ex. A: "Apfel" ist eine Frucht. = "Apfel" is a fruit.

Wie sagt man ... auf Deutsch? = How do you say ... in German?

Ex. Q: Wie sagt man "heart" auf Deutsch? = How do you say "heart" in German?

Ex. A: "heart" bedeutet "Herz" (auf Deutsch). = "Herz" means "heart" (in German).

Ex. A: Man sagt "Herz". = It's called "Herz".
