Need help with the end of nancy drew phantom of venice i am so close!!!!!!!?

I really need help turning the k***s at the end so that I don't you know.... DIE!!! I just cant seem to get it right. I've looked it up online and all the tell me is

click down clockwise twice

click 1 up counterclockwise 5 times

click 3 down clockwise 3 times

click 5 up counterclockwise only four times

click 4 down clockwise only twice

what the h**l is that supposed to mean?!?!? if you can't tell me a better and less confusing method, could you please at least help me make sense of this one im really starting to get pissed!!!!!!!

They have hint message boards for every nancy drew game and most likely somebody already asked the question you are asking, so click on the phantom of venice then Hints and Tips. If you don't see your question right away just click search and type in your question there. I always use this website whenever I'm stuck on a Nancy Drew Game. If you dont understand what they say on the message board, you'll have to register so you can ask them for yourself :)
