okay so i'm planning myself a vacation to amsterdam but i figure since i'm only a few hours away from paris i'll hit that spot too.

Here is my plan i want to fly from the states to paris. stay there 2 days then take a train to amsterdam and stay 4 days then take the train back to paris to take off for the states again.

my question.

does anyone know of any good priced hotels in paris and amsterdam

&& does anyone know the information about the train that takes you to amsterdam

also what do i need to fly there. just a passport or what? and i'm thinkin of just bringing 1000$ does that sound like enough to get everything i want or need to tour those places?

thanks

  1. hotels in Paris and Amsterdam aren't cheap and I've always tried to stay in apartments whenever I've visited these cities. I've used this company before and they've always seemed to have good value properties. http://www.holiday-velvet.com/paris and http://www.holiday-velvet.com/amsterdam

As with any city, you can be on a budget as big and small as you want. If you don't have much money, I'd suggest hostels in both cities and you can get a bed for as little as 10 euros

  2. did u see hostel?

  3. You'll only stay in Paris for two days??   You'll need more time than that.  Just the Louvre will take up a full day.  If I were you I would try to stay close to the Sein River..   Get one of those books by Rick Steves... he's given GREAT advice and hasn't EVER steared us wrong.

You can get around via tour buses.  They are "on and off" so you can be dropped off whenever you want to explore.  Then when you're finished hop on another one.

The trains are  really easy to use.  I've driven to Paris several times and also traveled with a Eurorail ticket.  Try to be efficient in getting your money.... it's very fast paced over there and the europeans get a little ansy with clueless foreigners.

Be prepared to walk.. be in good shape... wear comfortable shoes.

You'll have a blast, trust me.
