Question:

Need help with turning character in World of Warcraft?

Whenever I turn my character in WoW, instead of immediately turning in that direction, he slowly inches his body, like making a bunch of small turns to face the direction. The only time this doesn't happen is when I'm in somewhere like Org, or any of the main cities. How can I fix this? Is it a lag related issue or something? It's a huge pain.

  1. I've noticed that my mage does that as well and she's the only one. Try jumping as you turn or turning your camera direction with your mouse and double clicking. If its lag, you can always lower your video settings.

  2. Sounds like a bug, you need to report it to the game, by visiting the website. Good luck with it!

  3. If it only happens outside main cities, you may have your terrain distance set too high for your graphics card.  Try turning that setting down.

As for turning, if you are turning using your keyboard, I suggest learning to turn using your right mouse button instead.  Mouse-turns are hugely faster and more accurate (once you're used to them) than keyboard turns.

  4. sounds like lag.

  5. If the rest of your gameplay isn't choppy like that I wouldn't think it was lag. Check the bar on the bottom of the screen for your latency (its like a little meter...it should have green bars, but if your getting a bad connection then the bars might be red). The higher the number of frames per second the better your game will run. I have a problem with bad frame rates when I play, but my computer isn't really that great.

If you have any addons turned on I would suggest turning them off and seeing if the game play improves.
