Need help with tv tuner?

ok so i have vista but i wanna get a tv tuner. i have direct tv in the first floor of my house but i wanna watch tv in my bedroom on the 2floor. if i get a tv tuner will i have to run a cable from the first floor to the 2floor?

Yes, you have to bring the cable to the TV tuner. That is how it will get it's signal.
