If a paternity test states that the tested man might be 86% his biological father, I got the online kit at gtldna.com. Oh and by the way it says that 14 out of 15 genetic markers match. is it still possible for the other unrelated man to be the dad?

  1. You need paternity tests from both men if you want a meaningful result.  In general, a paternity test either gives the result of "could be the father" or "definitely not the father."

Get the other man tested, and if he comes up with something very low, like a 1%, then you know which is the father.  It's possible for both men to match (though it's unlikely), in which case you'll need to find another way to figure things out.

  2. Just about anything is possible...but 14 out of 15 is a really good match.  I think that that first guy's got to be pretty darn closely related.
