  1. Use 2X4s for your top and bottom plates and lay out your studs 16in on center if building this wall on concrete use pressure treated bottom plate that can be attached with concrete nails or tapcon anchor screws, if building this wall on a wood floor just nail in in place, make sure you have a guide line on the floor where the wall will sit plus a level to plumb the wall when its up.

  2. you have a sill plate and a top plate. rule of thumb, anything that will come in contact with the ground must be treated, anything that is exposed to the outside SHOULD be treated. untreated lumber is for INTERIOR walls. you can get away with a treated sill plate and untreated lumber for an exterior wall. dont forget that you need to put in some kind of diagonal bracing...

  3. 2x4's for all the framing.

    i do it daily.

    a girl in a toolbelt :)

oh try to get a ramset gun with pins and shots to secure it to the floor.

pl glue also is incredible stuff.

ps the bottom 2x4 needs to be pressure treated wood.
