Need help with youth baseball?

im a youth baseball coach babe ruth league.

i need help geting my kids more motovated they love the sport as much as i do

but some time there not in to it as much as they should be.

  1. u should make practice more fun but still work on the fundamentals.


  2. tell them you will get them McDonald's if they win, it worked on the commercial with the soccer team

  3. The age of Babe Ruth players mitigates against the Vince Lombardi type of motivation. The will consider you a real nerd if you start raising your voice and ranting at them.

    You might try real encouraging comments, even when a player misses second base and is called out on an appeal play. Kids of that age will never acknowledge any degree of personal sensitivity, but it's there. Reaching them is a matter of positive reinforcement even when you want to tear your hair out.

    If one of your kids ever says: "Geez coach, it's only a game!" you are toast. In practice, praise every play well made, and say "get 'em next time" when they botch it.
