I have to write 10 journal entries in Florence Nightingale's point of view for my Allied Health class. The problem is, I have no idea where to start. Any ideas?

  1. I would go to the children's section of a public library & look for books on her.  Even for adults, it's faster & easier than reading adult books.

Also try to find out more about what women wore at the time & whether clean water was available.  No doubt her hands got rough & red.  How would men have treated her? Did she have living relatives?  Also, what weather conditions did she endure? Were there bugs & mosquitos? What do you think she ate? What kind of bed did she likely sleep on? Where did she go to the bathroom? Just think about every aspect of her life as you go about your own & jot down some notes.  Of course, you'll have to make up a bunch, but you want it to be intelligent guesses & stuff that would affect health, since it's for a health class.

  2. In that time it was MAJOR for her to be a woman in her field of work... start out by making it gender specific being the "pioneer woman" =]

  3. Research her here, that might help!
