Need help:Future for information technology field is good by 2013?

Hi,I'm a girl of 19 and working as a computer technician(new zealnd).I'm really gud enough in my field.Right now,i have a diploma in computing and planning to do bachelors by next year.I'm ready to study anything in computing.Actually i'm trying to predict the future for I.T field.My question is

majors in information technology is better than software engineering?

Which has more scope and high salary by 2013 and after?(not only in nz,even in india and everywhere )

Which job title yields more money and value?(like computer scientists,etc

Can study networking (cisco ccna,java, .net,etc.,)until i get admitted to b.tech?

Please advice and advance thanks 4 every1 who gona help me out

  1. In my experience, the "title" of the degree is not as important as the subjects learned. At least here in the USA, practical experience, particularly developing code in Java or .Net, is more important than academic experience in Scheme and Lisp, etc. In administrative arenas, knowing networking, system admin, and how to optimise Microsoft software packatges - particularly Exchange, Sharepoint, etc. is good experience.

    Linux expertise is also becoming a commodity.
