Okay I am Scottish living in home town in UK, foreign nationals from Japan, Denmark, S. Africa, USA are coming to a special training event that my karate club have organised. What would be a good present for our guests? Whats specifically Scottish? Unusual? Not way to expensive either need to buy ten or a dozen approx. T.I.A

  1. Why not make up a goodie bag / hamper with lots of traditional bits and bobs?  You could put in as much or as little as you like, depending on how low or high your budget is.

    Content suggestions:

Malt whisky miniature (pick a well known Scottish brand)

    Shortbread

    Tin of Grants haggis

    Tablet

    Thistle cufflinks for the men

    Tartan neckscarf for the ladies

    A quaich

Any combination of the above would make a great gift bag.

If that sounds a bit too fussy, or high-budget, I'd recommend going for a small quaich and a whisky miniature.  Quaichs usually come in lovely presentation boxes anyway which often come with a card which will explain to your guests that the Scots traditionally use them to drink a wee dram.

Hope that has given you some inspiration!

  2. how about a tartan belt to wear with their karate suit?

If they are adults maybe a wee dram?
