  1. 8 is a hard age for girls, they want to entertain themselves yet they do need guidlines.  My suggestion, and I used this last year for my child, is to find the one thing they really like (ie Webkins, American Girl Dolls etc.) and focus the party on that.  Have a daytime slumber party where the girls bring their favorite Webkin or doll.  Spread blankets and pillows around the room, have the girls show up in PJs, do hair, nails, makeup (big girl stuff) and give them combs and hairbarretts with their names on it as favors.  You can tie the Webkins (american girl dolls etc) into the games, decorations, invitations etc.  Just let them have time to play but keep ideas available.  Play DDR or Concentration but keep the games short and the junk food around.  Add lots of balloons too, they create a great feeling and can be used in games too. Good Luck

  2. Your 8 year old and all her friends can star in a movie

Imagine how excited they'll be when they find out they're going to star in a one-of-a-kind movie adventure.

It's free, it's easy and it's lots of fun.

    Have fun

  3. How about a day of Beauty, Manicures, Pedicures all little girls like to get their nails done. Hire a couple of Manicurist. Have Pizza, Chips I would make an Ice Cream Punch, Cake music that the girls like. I think it would be fun.

  4. Something hands-on like making their own personal pizzas would be good.

Whatever you do, you should have some structured time like that (so they don't get bored) and some unstructured time when they can just be goofy.

  5. You should try a Hollywood themed thing. Get a projector, a few Disney movies, and have the kids come dressed as their favorite movie stars/characters! The invitations could look like movie tickets, and you could welcome them with a red carpet entrance.

  6. i helped throw a movie party and it was lots of fun.  Have invitation be a ticket or include fake ticket with it.  Find Dvd covers/movie posters online and print them out but replace her face on the picture. Hannah Montanna  is popuar choice for that age group.  You can even make a fake marquee.  Decorate your walk way to look like  red carpet (use fabric or table cloth)and hang up gold  stars. Everyone can decorate their own star with their name.   Have markers, stickers, glitter.  Give wallets out as favor and fill with fake money.  Have a concession stand and serve popcorn, pizza, hotdogs and movie candy.  then watch movie while kids take turns going to concession stand~they have to pay for everything with their fake money.   Afterwards play some games.
