  1. This is a good website when you want a theme for the party........ http://www.celebrateexpress.com/celebrat...

1 year olds love balloons because of the colors (make sure u pick up the pieces if it pops) and maybe a stuffed animal that they could hold on to.  They don't understand everything that's going on around them so don't go crazy.  They love music that they can clap to.

As party favors.... if you are inviting other mothers with babies, you can fill a baby bottle w/ candy.  They can use the baby bottle too.

If you are going to throw the party in your house, make sure u hide your child's most precious toys that they have now.  Other kids might destroy them.  Trust me.  I hid all my children's toys and left out stuffed animals, I bought an easel that had a chalkboard.... so other kids had things to do.

If you can do something outside....... a bubble machine (small one with batteries) would be great.  1 year olds love that and they just laugh, and laugh, and laugh.

You can also cover a table taped on each end with white drawing paper.  Give the children crayons.

You can buy plastic bowling pins (sometimes found in Rite Aid) and have the kids take turns throwing the plastic ball and knocking down the pins.

I hope this was helpful.  Happy Birthday to your child.

  2. Well you should get her favorite cartoon charecter like elmo, dora

  3. Something simple. She is very little.  IF you are inviting alot of other babies.  Alot of finger foods,  Pizza, fruit , Veggie tray, kind of big pieces for the babies can't swallow. Of course CAKE.  Theme, just match her bedroom set.   If you give candy, We used a Pinata that you just pull each string. Was easy for babies to pull, if they can't hold a bat yet. Make sure to get the Lolly pops that have a circular stick. For little ones can't choke.   Party bags. maybe give each child a good size blow up beach ball.

  4. first birthday? as in she is one year old? or first birthday PARTY? if it is her first birthday it doesnt really matter what you do, but if it is a first birthday PARTY than you should take her and her friends to chuckie cheeses or have a sleepover maybe with 3 of her best friends!

  5. I had my sons at Chuckie cheeses.

Or for a girl you can do a princess theme party in a park or something

  6. Ignore the idiots who say the party is for you, not her...  They obviously aren't parents:)  I have the movie of MY first birthday, which we showed at each of my daughters' first birthdays, AND at the first birthday for each of my grandkids!  So, be sure to take a video!  .....   If it's just for adults and your daughter (or a friend or 2 of hers), you don't need anything elaborate for the kids.  In fact, they'll be happy with the boxes from the gifts!  Don't have any planned activities for a 1-yr-old:)  If there are older kids too, then you can get a pinata, or maybe water pistols, Slip & Slide, Twister (outside)....   Assuming the adults are family, they'll be happy just visiting and watching your daughter:) ...  Get a little cake, just for her, and take pictures of her eating it:)  ...  just a veggie & dip tray; fruit tray and pizza is sufficient for a meal for everyone (and, cake) .....  And, start a tradition:  We had a cheap "Happy Birthday" banner that I dragged out each year, for everyone's birthday, and hung in the breakfast nook - so that the special day started first thing in the morning:)  My kids still remember that (and they're moms now) ....   Just have fun, relax, and remember a year ago:)
