It also has links to other sites.

  9. When I taught preschool one activity that never failed to bring joy was shaving cream painting.  Mix some tempra paint (add a few drops of dish soap so it won't stain clothing) into some shaving cream (not gel).  Make sure the kids are wearing smocks and the table is covered with newspaper.  Give each kid a piece of heavy duty construction paper and let them finger paint.  It takes a while to dry but it dries in texture and can be beautiful.  We just missed Easter,  but I did this once right before Easter and then cut the paintings out to be Easter eggs and they were gorgeous.   Years later I did this same activity with my Alzhemier's seniors and they loved it as much as the children.

  10. We like to do alot of special playdough type of crafts.

Here are some awesome recipes that are non-toxic and from my pre-school book.

    Ivory snow paint:

    1 cup of warm water

1/2 cup of Ivory Snow (flakes or powder) soap

Whip to merangue consistency and you can add sparkles or color.

    Wiggle Glue

    My kids love this:

Container #1 mix 1 tbs of Borax powder with 1 litre of warm water and set aside.

Container #2 mix equal amounts of Elmer's White School Glue and warm water until you have enough liquid #2 for each child to have a small amount. (must be school glue because ordinary white glue won't work)

For each child pour some liquid #1 into a clear plastic cup so that they can see the reaction and and equal amount of liquid #2 into another cup. Allow the children to mix  the liquids together and stir with a spoon.

Store in a sealed container so it won't dry up.

You can add food coloring to liquid #2.

All these are safe and easy to clean up, just don't get it near the carpet.

It is a great learning science project they will love.

    Good luck and have fun!
