I start dental assisting classes next week. Could anyone tell me about their experience in dental assisting or dental hygiene programs? I'm getting nervous and I'd like to know what people thought about their programs.

  1. As long as you study and take your classes seriously, you should have no problem in dental assisting school. My class was full of a bunch of girls that treated the class as an extension of high school. They were loud and distracting, didn't study, and did very poorly. It's not a hard course as long as you're serious about it. And it's an awesome field to be in. DAs are in fairly high demand and it's a really fun job! Good luck:)

  2. Dental Assisting classes will teach you what you need to know when you get a job in your profession,  so pay attention,  so when the dentist needs you to help him with something you know what you are doing.   Dental assisting is a great career,  nice hours,  good pay and benefits,  helping people,  and very high in demand.

Just goofing off and breezing through classes will make it harder to be good at your dental job.    All medical classes are a bit challenging,  but take them seriously,  like your career depends on it,  because those people that take their schooling to heart end up having much better careers than the fly by night students.

If you like dentistry,   you will love dental assisting.   Dental assists are the glue that holds the dental office together !
