I have a 1993 Kawasaki ZX600R that needs a new chain and sprockets. The stock are 15 tooth in front and 39 tooth in rear. I want to get a 14 tooth in the front and 41 tooth in the rear then of course a new chain. Can anyone recommend a company that makes good chains and sprockets. There are so many different companies that I am not sure one that is really good?

  1. Not sure if this spelling is correct, Tsubaki chain (sealed O-ring) holdup well & require minimum adjusting. Chech out ' dennis kirk.com' for good price & service.

  2. D.I.D. makes the best chains

    www.whitebuffaloracing.com is a good site for chains/sprockets

  3. I have used many chains and sprockets over the years (street and racing.) I have found that for street use, RK X-ring chains are fantastic. They self lubricate better, require minimal adjusting (providing the sprockets are in good shape) and my favorite part is that they come with a 20,000 mile warranty, as long as they are not used for racing. As far as sprockets, make sure you use steel for the street. The reason being is that steel sprockets are tougher than aluminum (used mainly in racing), which will give you better longevity.

As far as buying them, I would recommend Cycle Gear. The reason being is that they usually have the items in stock. If not, they have so many locations and the ability to order direct that it only takes a day or two to get them for you. Plus, they offer a 100% satisfaction guarantee. Say you put the sprockets on and don't like how they have affected your bike. They will take them back and either order you new one or refund your money to you. No kidding. I will provide the link below and you can check it out.

Plus, they have locations all over the place! I worked for them for years (now work for a manufacturer) and I will tell you they stand behind everything they sell even if the company who makes the products doesn't. I still buy stuff from there for that reason. :)
