  1. It is a toxic solid.  It would most likely be produced by reacting elemental arsenic with elemental bromine:

    2As + 3Br2 -----> 3AsBr3

    It is used for the production of organoarsenic compounds and other arsenic-bromine compounds.  It has a very high refractive index as well.
