Need info on Casa Marina Reef hotel resort in Dominican Republic?

I notice that the hotel is only 10mins drive away from the airport, i am worried that the flight path of the planes would ruin holiday, anyone stayed there who can help me, also what is the night life like in the local town, and is may a good time to go, my missus wondering about getting a tan.

Casa Marina Reef Hotel is located in Sosua and is about 20 min drive from the airport. The Puerto Plata airport is at the other side so you will have no problem with planes coming over.

The night life in this tourist area is rather good, but of course can't be like the one in the Puerto Plata area. This is a tourist town, so everything is oriented to tourist (also the prices of the souvenirs, drinks, etc.,).

May is a excellent time to go, mayby sometimes a little rain, but generally speaking not more than 15 minutes and then full sun again.

Try to do some excursions to like the " Isabella Historica" and if you wanna do some GOOD shopping and not in a tourist area do the " VIP shopping" both organized like a private tour (min 4 pers max 8 pers). For more info just contact me.

Hello.

The Casa Marina Hotel, is one of the best hotels, grat food, close to everything. They do offer a lot of activities there already.

You right in Sosua, a beautiful caribbean town.

There is lot's of things to do. Different beaches, close to Cabarete a Surf town, You will see, a 2 or 3 week stay is not enough.

You have to make a trip to Puerto Plata, Samana, Playa Grande, Punta Rusia and more. It is a dream of an Island. I came for my vacation in 1985. Well, now I do live here over 20 years.  I am still happy today about my decision.....

Have lots of animals, sun, the ocean close, nice and friendly people...... By the way, cheapest tours you find in Cabarete. A friend of mine, FUNTOURS, owner Joseph, offers best prices and most variety on trips. He is the only one you would get your money back, in case of weather problems, or any thing like that.

Don't be concerned, I lived in Sosua for several years and airline noise  is definitely not a problem.  Sosua has incredible night life, dozens of clubs, bars etc.  In May you will get some liquid sunshine.  Check the site below.  It will give you the weather in past years.

I stayed at casa marina beach(reefs sister hotel)..In June 06 its basic but nice the pools and rooms are lovely and clean.The food was excellent and we heard of nobody getting sick at our hotel.You do see the odd plane going over but no noise not even at night.The rooms do have double glazed doors in any case.Casa marina only has one disco(old fashioned) not really the place to party but we didn't want to once we were there due to being that relaxed!!! Not sure about off the complex thou?!  Your missus will def get a tan but avoid Nov/DEC because it rains a lot.. June was roasting 33 at mid day...enjoy your hols...
