Question:

Need information about the consequences of forcing self to faint?

I used to be addicted to forcing myself to faint. I would crouch down, hyperventilate, stand up quickly, hold my nose, keep my mouth closed, and try to blow the air out, thus forcing it straight to my brain and my passing out and sometimes seizures. I want to know what the possible long-term damage I could have caused. I went through a period of about six months, first month maybe 10 a day, then maybe 10 a week.

I'm looking for professional opinions or experiences. Please no stupid answers. Please no preaching either, like I said I've stopped, it was a very rough time in my life and I don't plan to do it again. Thank you.

  1. From Wikipedia:

"Any activity that deprives the brain of oxygen has the potential to cause moderate to severe brain cell death leading to permanent loss of neurological function ranging from difficulty in concentration or loss of short term memory capacity through severe, lifelong mental disability to death."

  2. thats really bad. i saw on the news that a lot of kids did that as a game but some never woke up and just died or it can cause u brain damage.. im glad u dont do it anymore ,just stay that way and hopefully u didnt hurt urself when u did it.

  3. thats like the weirdest addiction ive ever heard of. anyways. if you aren't brain dead yet, then thats probably the only thing that couldve happened. or brain infarct. or you will probably be more prone to having a stroke in the future. good luck with that one skippy!
