Need information on Austin, Texas and/or University of Texas

I am currently a college student in Tennessee, but will be moving to Austin to attend the University of Texas in May 2009. I need some advice on where the most reasonable rent is near UT's campus. I am looking to save as much money as possible down there as I am leaving a full scholarship in Tennessee for out-of-state tuition and NO scholarships at Texas.

Any information on Austin, UT, or life in Texas would be greatly appreciated as well. Thanks so much!

MEN   CHA (as in LA )  CA ( as in LA)

Austonites say it wrong MANSHACK aahhaaa

the life around Texas is truly down home Austin people are the most friendliest of all ..but then you have those that we could do without and of coarse we all have those types in every family if you get my drift. Austin Air is wonderful and no humidity .. lots to do and Houston is the 4th largest city in the Nation and Victoria college is the hardest Jr  college in the US.. they even know about Victoria Junior college, Victoria Texas in New Yorks City, Victoria, Texas  is the fastest growing town coming up..but not much to d there.. Corpus Christi, Texas  is famous for Padre Island  the Beach ..

The highways are pretty much easy to drive. the weather here changes ...and is  often compared to a woman changing her mind constantly.hehehhehe...I think people who come to Texas never leave because it is so relaxing and layed back.

We love it.. No place like Texas..Good Luck with your Venture.
