Question:

Need information on no prescription color contact lenses?

I have really dark, almost black eyes but I do not wear glasses. I have 20/20 vision and do not have astigmatism or any other eye problem. However I want to try on colored contacts (last time I asked a question about what kind I should get, I was told to get FreshLook Color Contacts). In order to get these FreshLook Contacts, what process would I have to go to (ex. would I have to go to the eye doctor and get them specially adjusted to my eye or something? or would I just be able to go to a drugstore?). Details are appreciated!

THANKS FOR YOUR HELP :)

  1. I think you're still going to have to go in for an appointment.  Your doctor will use that time to fit you for contacts, show you about taking them in and out, and give you general tips for caring for them.  Also, everybody's eye has a little bit of a different shape, so he'll need to find out your base curve so that the lens fits comfortably.  You could try 1-800-CONTACTS also, but I think you still might need a prescription for that.  Good luck

  3. you'll definitely still need to go to the eye doctor and get a prescription.  You can't order contacts anywhere, even if there is no prescription on them, without a written prescription from a doctor.  Even with no prescription contacts, you still need to be fitted to see which brand of contacts [different brands have different diameters] will best fit your eye, and you'll also have to be instructed on the proper care and technique of contact lenses.  good luck! =)
