Need instructions to rewire a Perfecto single strip push button florescent hood light?

My 45 gallon tank hood light switch broke, and I hate to spend $50.00 to replace the entire hood. It was forced apart at the seam when I tried to force it, so all of the parts are here and in tact, I'm just not sure how the wire leads should be placed on the inside. Anyone whose had the salt make turning the light on and off a chore knows what I mean.Has anyone had this occur and repaired it? Any help would be appreciated.

  1. there should be a red, a blue a white and black wire inside the light fixture. the red and blue wires should be leading to the contacts on the ends of fixure where the bulb fits in.( the red and blue wires may both be black or both red or both blue but they should be distictivly different from the main power wires which i have already refered to as the black and white wires).  The black and white wires will tie into the cord. you may need to soder the red and blue wires to the contacts. the wires leading to the cord can be tied together using wire nuts. wire nuts will cost a few dollars at any hardware store.
