My husband and I have volunteered to tear down our community lodge that had been destroyed by fire. We will tear down to the basement and with the communities help, rebuild. There is concern of liability issues even though we have our own health/liability insurance. We are volunteering, more than anyone else is doing. We dont want to see it destroyed, just rebuilt.

  1. Go into politics and government

choose law and ethnics and I think you will get more and better answers.Sorry, I am a volunteer myself but I'm not a lawyer.

  2. With whom have you volunteered? The city? A nonprofit organization? Whomever you have volunteered with to do this task, you need to sit down and have a frank discussion about who is going to be responsible if you are hurt. Papers will need to be drawn up and signed. The city or the nonprofit will have a lawyer who can take care of this. Everyone needs to be comfortable with the arrangement and possibilities before ANY work is done.
