Question:

Need lots of cool, fun decorating tips for my bedroom?

So I've been slowly making over my bedroom but I am stuck as to cool decorating ideas. I have a lot of blank and boring wall space (I have family/friend pictures up but that's not what I am going for). What I really need are a lot of fun, easy, and cheap! decorating ideas that will help bring my room together.

My color scheme is hot pink, orange, and yellow. The kinds of things I like for decorations are vintage/stylized flowers, hearts, and butterflies/faeries. I am also a competent seamstress so any sewing projects/ideas would be great!

Thank you in advance for thorough and informative answers!

  1. WELL IF U LIKE ANGELINA GOLIE OR SOMETHING 50CENT AND SO ON... U CAN PUT A POSTER UP AND BRIGHT NICE COULOURS WILL HELP LIKE BLUE OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT MAKE YOUR BED NICE TO:}

  2. Make in a style that says. "This is me" one step at a time.

    So you won't grow out of it. Good luck. <}:-})

  3. Ohhhh, I love doing this stuff....So many ideas in my head right now.

    Can you get hold of an overhead projector and borrow it from someone?  If you can, get the clear acetates and copy some flowers, fairies or scenery designs onto one and project it onto the wall.  Trace it on with a pencil.  Then have a blast painting it in with acrylic paints.  I did this with my son's room when he was little.  He had mickey mouse scenes on all four walls in his room.  It was like living in a cartoon.

    For your bed:  you can sew a comforter that looks like a giant flower, or perhaps a lilypad (if you had a blue rug in your room, this would be so cool!  You can get bamboo sticks or old wood that runs floor to ceiling and nail it floor to ceiling at the ends of your bed.  Then twist silk flower vines up them.  It'll look like you're sleeping in a flower grove.

    Paint some trees on your wall.  Bring in large branches into the room nail them to the wall so they look like they're coming out of the trees, hot glue some green silk leaves and flowers to the ends of the branches to make them look alive.  Another thing similar to this I saw was to paint the trees, staple green fabric to the ceiling so that it drapes down a bit in spots and looks like the undercanopy in the forest.  Nail up the brances like I described above.  They'll look like they're going up into the fabric, making it look even more real.

    If there's a ceiling light in the center of the room, get one of the small round shades that comes down into a point.  Get some really large fake butterfly wings (or make them out of gauzy fabric stretched over a coat hanger - you only need the half of back end of the wings, and  glue them on each side of the light.  It should look like a firefly's butt.

    Get some glow in the dark paint and put tiny dots all over your ceiling so that when the lights are out it'll look like you're staring up at the stars (if you don't do the fabric thing).

    Another crazy alternative I had heard of:  Paint the walls the lighter color you're going to use.  Take a big house plant and set it in the middle of the floor.  Put a lamp without the shade behind it so it casts the plant's shadow on the wall.  Trace the design with the pencil.  Keep moving the plant and tracing until you cover all the walls. Then paint the plant shadows in with the darker color paint.  If you want fairies on the walls, you can print out a design you like, Use some carbon paper to trace the design on the walls then paint it in.

    Just remember to use acrylic paint, or paint markers, not permanent markers, cause its very difficult to cover them up in the future.

  4. you can get chalkboard paint in aobut any color and it makes for a great wall decoration that you can change whenever you want!
