  1. x=cherries price

    y=grapes price

    x=2y

    32x+8y=90

    32(2y)+8y=90

    72y=90

    y=1.25

    x=2(1.25)

    x=2.5

    32(2.5)-8(1.25)=$70

    make it a good day

  2. Let's let x = cherry price

    y = grape price

    32x + 8y = 90

    x = 2y

    substitute in for x

    64y + 8y = 90

    72y = 90

    y = 1.25 /lb

    x = 2.50 /lb

    2.5*32 = $80

    8*1.25 = $10

    $70 more money by cherry sales
