I posted this earlier today, and nobody seems to have read the question. I am an outreach storyteller and I need a mouse-themed *activity* for a small room full of 3 year olds. Please no Simon Says (as we already have this in the program) and remember that space is *extremely* limited.

You can read "give a mouse a cookie" followed by some activity sheets.  There are lots of cute things to do on this site.  Have fun.

  2. Here are some good websites to try:

  3. I answered last time, but I remembered this story called "Tiger Is A Scaredy Cat" by Joan Phillip.

It is a cute story about a cat who is afraid of everything, even mice.  When the baby mouse gets lost, Tiger overcomes his fears and saves the baby mouse.  My preschoolers loved it.

As a follow-up you could have the children show how they look when they are afraid.

You could ask them what scares them and talk about things that we need to be afraid of and things we would like to not be afraid of.

You said space is limited, but if there is room you could hide a mouse and have them pretend to be cats trying to save it.  Have them crawl and mew-ow until the mouse is found.  You could do this several times.  Encourage all of the children to rejoice when the mouse is found.

Give each child a chance to hold the mouse (You can find small stuffed mice at the pet supply store.)

You could sing "Oh Where, Oh Where Has My Little Mouse Gone" ( instead of dog) before the search or while the children are taking turns holding the mouse if you like.

    I  hope this helps.
