Question:

Need new clubs...?

I'm 6'5 so (+1) is a must. I have a limited budget so going to a pro-shop and getting custom fitted is not the most desirable option. I'm having alot of trouble finding a decent set of clubs that are right handed +1 stiff shafts. Best answer goes to the person who directs me to a site where I can search on these criteria, or at least something close to it. Budget for this is about 250-600$

Thanks in advance.

  1. Try going to a small-time golf shop, most of them cant afford those fancy-pants uber clubs, and they have a couple different sises

  2. Check out Callaway's Preowned website.  They have used clubs in your budget and their site shows shaft length & lie angle.

  3. www.tgw.com has alot of closeouts and discounted name brand clubs.

  4. Iceman -

    Here ya go buddy:

    http://sporting-goods.search.ebay.com/1_...

Follow that link. You'll have to search through those a little bit, but the clubs you seek are in there for a decent price....good luck!

EDIT - This link doesn't show up as 'clickable' on my screen....if you can't click on it, post your e-mail and I'll send it to you.

  5. Golfsmith has a custom fitting section for most new-model clubs and you might have one in your area.  I suggest getting a set of Cobra irons, I have a set they make for mid-high handicapers and they are extremly foregiving.  You can always have a 1" extension put under the grips of a new set of irons.

  6. u asked this question 1 day too late. ystrdy on woot.com they had a set of clubs real cheap, now , i'm sorry i dont know what to tell you

  7. golfclubexchange.com

Like eBay but you can search by specifications (+ 1 inch).

Since you are 6'5", you really should get fitted.  Many fitters will do it for free if you purchase the clubs from them.  Proper fitting is the difference between a 10 HCP and a 5 HCP.  Fitting is one of the keys to consistency.  If you are spending $600, I am sure you can get something out of the local pro-shop.
