I had two Kicker CVR 12s in my truck with my Kicker kx450.2 amp, I don't know much about car stereo but one of my subs blew and the other is messed up, what kind of subs should I get preferably in the 300 dollar range or lower.

  1. well if you want to spend about 300 dollers there is alot of options kicker is good but they dont last that long but if you want to spend 300 dollers for 1 sub or 2? if just 1 i would recomend looking at jl audio and you dont have to have a 12' there are 10's out there that hit harder and cleaner than 12's with the same watt  and i would also recomend looking at rocksford fosgate punch.

  2. it might just be easier to put some new CVR's in the box you have already and not have to get a different box $ for changing things around. and if you really want to save some cash try to find the 05 cvr's on a sale because they have the 07 model out now.

if you are blowing subs; or any speaker for that fact then their are a few things you should do.

    A. set your gain correctly on your amp. use Spark's chart http://answers.yahoo.com/my/profile?show...

    B. your head unit can send a clipping signal out if you turn the volume up to high so keep the volume below that number.

    C. This is what i did, get an EQ with a clip indicator (input/output) then the light will flash when you are sending a bad signal to let you know to cut back.
