There is thsi dude at my work that is constantly harassing me. Everytime I am doing something, he comes up to me and commands me to do it. Right as I'm doing it. Everytime something needs to be done, he comes up to me and yells loud and orders me to get it done. I am the hardest working person at that place, and he is not my boss. In fact, I have absolutely no idea why he is doing this. Has anyone observed this type of behavior from others in their workplace?

  1. If he's not your boss, or your superior in any way, I would speak with your superior about this on the grounds you find it hostile and disruptive and shouldn't he be off doing his job anyway?

  2. You need to have a meeting with you, him, & your boss and voice your opinion. Tell your boss that you are trying to be professional & efficient & it is affecting you having to deal with this on a daily basis.

  3. No I havnt. Why dont you get to the point with him and ask him what is his issue. Sounds like hes just messing with you. Tell him to take a hike and mean it.

  4. No, and you need to address this issue in a professional and polite manner so that you don't end up getting fired over it because that may be just what he is after.  He sounds like the "office idiot" or "office troll" and you have become his prize for the moment.  He has figured out that he can wear you down and he is really doing a good job at it.  You need to start by having a very private, professional and polite conversation with him and tell him that will NO LONGER tolerate his abuse and him ranting and raving at you at work.  You need to tell him that if he does not decease immediately you are going to go a superior.  Explain to him that he has absolutely no authority over you and the very next time he tries to "shove" work off on you that you will instantly take it to a superior.  Don't give him time to explain unless he apologizes.  If he comes up with 50 excuses why he does it or why can get away with it, just tell him that he has been warned, don't listen to him and politely walk away.  If it happens again report him.  He is committing terrorism acts in the workplace.

    Peace & Love :)

  5. I would yell back really loud "you don't have any work to do..again??"  Draw attention to the fact that he is a slacker.  If that doesn't work, have a chat with the boss.
