Need passport to travel from Vermont to Quebec and Back ?

Do you need a passport ?

It depends on if your traveling by car or plane. when i flew to Canada from the U.S. i needed a passport but when i drove across the border we brought them just in case and they didn't even ask for them

From Burlington ON to Montreal QB, you don't leave the country. From Vermont in the US to Quebec, you might want a passport in case, or at least have ID

I'm assuming you are driving to Montreal from Vermont, and that you are a US citizen. If that is the case, you do not need a passport. You must bring your birth certificate and government issued photo ID (i.e., your driver's license) to prove your identity and citizenship at the border.
