The passengers name was Phil Bradley and the airplane was named the Buckeye Pacemaker...a DC-3 and it wa only 23 passengers and a crew of 3 that died.

Yes, contact the NTSB (www.ntsb.gov) for more info if you want to know the particulars of the accident beyond knowing just the name. The NTSB are the ones that actually investigate accidents and write the reports (the FAA only assists). They have a lot of accident report summaries online but I'm not sure they go back to 1959 yet. Last I knew they had pretty much everything back to about 1963. Also contact some of the newspapers in the region such as the Roanoke Times and see what they have in their archives. It helps to have the exact date. They probably interviewed Bradley.
