  1. pick ups are typically not for babys and economy.  Unless your going to toss the baby in the tailgate.

  2. Depending on the use of the truck there are a few options. If you do not need a full size the Crew Cab Canyon, and or Colorado by GMC/Chevy with an inline 5 Cylinder are good little trucks that give you about 30MPG. It has a towing capicity of 4000lbs with the 4X4 and a box that is useable for small pupose.  If a full size truck is what is needed then look at a Crew Cab Sierra with the 4.8L V-8. It gives you 298 horsepower and has a Max towing capicity of 7200 lbs with a highway rateing of 26mpg. Or you can go with the 5.3L V-8 Giveing you 315 Horsepower, a towing Capibility of 7900lbs, and a highway fuel rateing of 24mpg. Keep in mind that these trucks come equipped with Onstar, and with a Child on the way, In my mind safety would be a big factor when looking. Take a look at them, and decide for yourself.
