Need program to monitor Application network usage

Question

I constantly have a 100 packets/second going through my local network connection, I find this odd due to the fact that I have all network-using utilities closed.

Does anyone know of an application that can tell me what programs on my PC are using the network?

Download ETHERDETECT very famous and easy to use Packet sniffer used by lot of system admins to sniff out packets coming from which port and application.

Define network.

Is this your connection to the Internet thru a modem or router?  Are there other computers on the network?

What Windows are you running?

Do you have an active firewall?  Which one?
