Need promotion & marketing help

Question

Hello all,

I am a physically disabled person suffering from a very rare disease called Fibrodysplasia Ossificans Progressiva or in short FOP.

Recently I built a website http://fopworld.blogspot.com/ . The reason for developing this website is promoting the awareness of this disease. Since this disease is very rare, right now only very few people know about it.

In future I have plans to build this website as a community where FOP patients, their family members & others can exchange thoughts and can also help each other.

Now, can anyone guide me how to promote this website? What should be done & what shouldn't be. I really wants to work for the cause.

You have made an informative site. You don't need to invest money as affiliate marketing like google adwords or yahoo marketing , use social media optimization tools such as myspace, bebo, facebook, hi5, orkut, digg and communicate  some organization to linking with .org sites.  know a little to optimize a onpage.
