Question:

Need punch idea (must be light color or clear)?

My wife is planning a baby shower for a friend.

It will be held at a small art museum (the mom to be works there).

And the Museum doesn't allow dark or bright colored drinks - because the museum is in a home...and part of the art is the furniture.....

The family doesn't want alcohol there either.

So she needs a punch idea to serve in the afternoon (that is not dark or bright colored- clear would be best. )

Other food there - Bruschetta - crackers - fruit & cheese trays, finger sandwiches.

  1. this one is very good and refreshing

mix one jug mixed juice of pineapple/banana/orange

    one frozen concentrate orange juice

    one 2 liter ginger ale

make a ice ring from a jello mold or bundt pan to float on top

  2. My favorite is lime sherbet and seven up or gingerale. It makes a great punch. Add chilled seven up to punch bowl and then take large spoonfulls of lime sherbet and place it in the bowl.

  3. This punch is a creamy cream color.

    INGREDIENTS

    6 fluid ounces lemon juice

1 (6 ounce) can frozen lemonade concentrate, thawed

1 (6 ounce) can frozen orange juice concentrate

3 liters lemon-lime flavored carbonated beverage

    2 drops red food coloring

    1 orange, sliced into rounds

    1 lemon, sliced into rounds

    DIRECTIONS

In a large punch bowl, lemon juice, lemonade concentrate and orange juice concentrate. Stir in lemon-lime soda, and add a few drops red food coloring. Float orange and lemon slices for garnish.

  4. White grape juice and ginger ale, add a clear rum or vodka, garnish with oranges or other citrus fruit

  5. 2 cups simple syrup, chilled

1 (32 fluid ounce) bottle raspberry flavored carbonated water, chilled

1 (64 fluid ounce) bottle white grape juice, chilled

2 (2 liter) bottles lemon-lime flavored carbonated beverage, chilled

In a large punch bowl, mix all ingredients together. You can use an ice ring to keep it chilled, if desired.

To make simple syrup for beverages:

Bring 2 cups of plain cold tap water to a boil. Stir in 2 cups of plain granulated sugar. Turn the heat to low and stir constantly until the sugar dissolves completely. To test if the sugar is completely dissolved, use a metal spoon to scoop up a small bit of the syrup. Tilt it over the pan and watch carefully. You shouldn't be able to see any crystals in the liquid. At this point you can add flavorings; add about a tablespoon of any liquid extract. You can also stir in 1 tablespoon corn syrup to help ensure the syrup stays smooth. Let the syrup cool to room temperature, then pour into a clean glass jar and store in the refrigerator.

  6. TROPICAL PUNCH

    4-5 bananas

    1 large can pineapple juice

1 (med size) cans frozen orange juice concentrate

1 (large size) can frozen lemonade concentrate

    6 qts. water

    sugar to taste

    6 qts. 7-Up

(if you ever need an alcoholic punch, you can add vodka too)

In blender, blend bananas and add juices & water.  Sweeten to taste (You may need to do this in batches).  Add 7-up.  (This can be prepared, omitting the 7-Up, and frozen in thirds.  Add the 7-Up when it's thawed) .....serves 40

You can carry the base to the party and add the 7-Up when you get there......  It's a HEALTHY punch too!

  7. Try white grape juice and seven-up.

    Make it simple.
