i had a recipe that my family loved. It was made in one pan. I remember browning the ground beef then adding the israeli couscous browning it a little then adding some kind of liquid and seasonings. So simple! i lost the recipe and can't find any thing similar. Anyone know of this? Appreciate any help.

    1 lb ground beef

    1 tablespoon olive oil

    1 tablespoon unsalted butter

    3 cups beef stock

1 small onion, cut into 1/4-inch dice

    3/4 teaspoon ground cumin

    Pinch of cayenne pepper

    2 cups Israeli couscous

salt & freshly ground black pepper, to taste

2 tablespoons coarsely chopped flat-leaf parsley

If using Israeli couscous, bring 3 cups of beef stock to a boil in a medium saucepan.  Meanwhile, in a large saucepan, heat olive oil and butter over medium-low heat. Add the ground beef and saute until browned.  Add tthe onions, and cook until lightly browned, about 3-4 minutes. Stir in cumin and cayenne pepper, and saute for 1 minute more.

Stir in couscous, salt, pepper, and boiling water. Cover, and simmer over low heat until tender and water is absorbed, about 10-12 minutes. Add parsley, and serve.
