Question:

Need romantic NYC restaurant recommendation?

So.... my boyfriend and I are looking for a good place to go for our 2 year anniversary. We are both picky eaters, but in different ways, so I am looking for some good ideas..

I am a vegetarian (and no I don't eat fish either), but otherwise I am easy to please. I am fine going to a restaurant that serves meat as long as they are willing to cater to me.

My boyfriend is a meat eater, but as he is from South Asia he hates "bland" food. So, French, American, and Italian are out. I think he is insane for not appreciating fine Italian cuisine, but really he has burned off his taste buds long ago and thats why.

Food we both like: Indian, Ethiopian, Mexican, Thai, Mediterranean, Japanese on occasion. Willing to try new things, as long as they are interesting.

Other criteria:

We want to dress up

It can be exspensive, but not outrageous (A full dinner for 2 with drinks $100- $175.)

  1. Spice Market.  It is an Asian fusion restaurant owned by Jean-Georges (big deal chef)   It's more trendy than romantic.

most of the most romantic places in NYC are french restaurants, so you've pretty much ruled out alot.

  2. Try Tavern on the Green or The Russian Tea Room.

(between Leonard St & Varick St)

    New York City, NY 10013

    (212) 343-3883
