Okay so I got some .dwg files for autoCAD from a guy who needs some work done on them....he did them himself and wanted me to finish them up for him. The problem is that what he gave me is really tiny, and the dimensions are way off. His dimensions say that the line is 22' and when i dimension it, it says that its 1,239'. I tried scaling everything to 12 cuz thats a foot right??? I cant figure it out..until than im stuck with being able to do nothing on it..please help.

  1. Have you tried "Scale Reference"?

Execute the SCALE command and select all the entities.

Pick a base point on the end of an object that you know what it's size should be.

Hit the letter R for Reference

Pick the next point on the object (the "end" of that dimension).

Type what the correct dimension for that object should be.

This will resize everything based on the referenced object and the dimension you tell AutoCAD that object should be.
