Question:

Need serious advice here!Got a really bad lower back problem?

I play tennis at international level(itf events).I am 16 yrs old.

I have this terrible lower back pain.I have gone to many physios and doctors.I wanted to know what is the "name"of this problem.I wanted to find some info on it. Any links would be of great help!

I am hardly able to move and CAN'T even do exercises(it pains that much!) I have even done 5 IFT's on my lower back.

DETAILS:the area where it pains is just below the hip and above the butt muscles.I think it is in the pelvic region.

I am going for an MRI but I still want to know a specific "term" for my problem.

  2. I've get back pain when i play tennis.  Since i've learned a new backhand it hurts my back every time i hit it! Putting ice on it is always a good idea for pain but it's definitely not a long term solution.  I don't know any specific terms but I hope you feel better soon and get back (no pun intended =]) to playing tennis soon!

You hit an overhead that was too far behind you, didn't you?  That is what happened to me but because my family is too poor to afford these tests, I didn't get the tests.  Good thing you are because my back has never felt the same since.  All I did was ice it for all day for what seemed like weeks.  I used to play at a pretty high level but now it's hard for me to play intensely.  You probably got a joint dislocation of your pelvis but DON'T TAKE MY WORD FOR IT, see a doctor.

  4. Go to a top notch doctor. If you're near NYC go to Columbia or Lenox Hill.  Any doc who is associated with the best hospitals is the best doc to see. The best H's only get the best to work there.

    Let it rest for some time and very very slowly, while standing lean over and let your arms just hang down, then slowly try to get closer and closer to the floor with out touching it -unless you can. but dont force it.  Thats one thing.  Look it up online, there are a couple of different exercise type things you can do to eleviate it.

  5. Ok, so I'm just going to throw this out there, it'll sound a little strange..

    I had a friend who was having serious back pain and it was later determined that because she was sweating and then going outside after practice, her muscles were heating and cooling too quickly.  So try changing your shirt right after every practice.  I live in a very cold Eastern Washington and I've had similar issues before but then started changing (even if I was wearing Dri-fit!) right away before going outside and it helped me.  Not having a wet shirt on my muscles relieved a good amount of pain.

    It's merely a suggestion, but may be worth a shot.  Good luck though!
