Need simple home cinema speakers ??

Hi, I have a LCD tv and as we all know the sound quality from normal tv speakers suck. I would not mined a 5.1 surround sound system but I live in an apt. building so I really can not really Boom out my neighbors. What I am searching for is to like connect a 2.1 speakers or something, I don't care if it is not surround sound but Just to have good quality sound is all I seek. Any suggestions ?? Is there anything good out there like say 2 or 3 speaker system that sounds good that I won't need a big amp for ? Ideas ? thanks

Although they both can blow your socks off they are good at lower levels too. But ideally you should demo them.
