Need some advice knitting or patterns?

Question

My wife is a biker and I want to make her something pretty, but I don't want her to be ashamed to show it to her friends. It can't be dainty in other words. Any ideas on what I can knit her?

I have about 2 weeks to make something before she gets back from a road trip she took with her friends.

I think this depends  on how much knitting experience you have.  A scarf is a good starting place. Go to your local craft store or, even better a knitting shop in your area.  Usually, they will be happy to help you.  Pick out a colour you think your wife will like and knit the whole thing in garter stitch(knit every row); 2 weeks should be lots of time even if you are a beginner.  If you feel ready for it, put a drop stitch row in at each end (they will show you at the yarn shop; it's pretty easy--you just wrap yarn twice instead of once when doing the garter stitch)
