Need some encouragement, what do you think my chances are?

So, this is my first month off of birth control. I hear conflicting opinions a lot in regards to fertility immediately after the pill. Some people seem to think that you are most fertile at the times after discontinuing the pill and others say it takes months to get regular and even start ovulating again. Well, I know that I ovulated this month and my husband and I had s*x on cycle days 7, 12, 14, 15, 20, & 21. Today is cycle day 23. What do you think my chances are of getting pregnant in my first month off the pill?

First of all, it does NOT take months to regain fertility; if that were the case, you wouldn't have to take the pill every day.  After 2 days of not taking the pill, its protection cannot be guaranteed.  It is recommended that you wait three months for the sole purpose of being able to monitor your cycle.

I think your chances are pretty good...  if you don't get pregnant, try having s*x every other day from the moment your period ends to the day you expect it again.

I got preggo with my first the month after quitting the pill... And a friend of mine got pregnant during a three day window of forgetting to take her pill.

I hope our chances are good :] I'm in the same position as you - waiting on my first and am now 6dpo. The 2WW has got to be the most exciting and frustrating time yet! This is my first month trying off birth control too and I'm trying to stay as positive and hopeful as possible. I will be thrilled if we have been lucky but I also know it will be okay if I haven't this month. I've heard stories of people falling pregnant straight away and others taking longer - I guess only time will tell! You seem as though you have targetted plenty of days for BD which is great. If your cycle is 28 days long, you may have BD on ovulation day too [day 14] which is always a good thing. Good luck and baby dust to us both!!

It took me 2.5 years to even get my period back after stopping birth control pills.  (I was underweight) If you have already ovulated, then things are looking pretty good for you.  Good luck!
