I just got a new puppy, (from the pound)

and I need some suggestions on what to call her.

She is:

Black, with white chest and paws.

One of her breeds is border collie. ;) And maybe lab or retriever.

She is quite fluffy too.

And really tiny and thin. (she was in the pound, Alone and wouldn't eat)

She is only 6 or 7 weeks old.

I'm thinking of Lassie, Sassy, Shadow, Midnight, Minnie(but she won't be small for long) Jade, Ebony, Clara, Jaida (greek: precious jewel), lucky.

:)

  3. I can see your struggle, I like all those names too. Have you considered combining the Midnight/Minnie idea and calling her Midi.

Of your choices my favorite is Sassy, it has an "I survived the pound" attitude with out the Lucky obviousness.

  10. for some reason,  for female pets I always use old traditional human names.  The last time I named a dog it was Sally, my horse is named Betty.  I like the short simple names.

  11. How about the name Pepper

  12. Roxy is the by far the best..imo

  13. I always liked Sheba for a female BC.  It's fast, easy to yell and not likely to be the name of another dog in the vicinity.  If she's mostly BC, be prepared for a lot of work, if you don't know the breed already - you have a dog with the intelligence of a young human child.  Spoil her and you're in for years of problems.  Love her, but strictly, and you won't believe the results.  Oh, and speak plain English to her - she'll learn.
