  1. diagonal:  i think its for a smash to send it diagonal from you.

Time: i think its the time for a time out

Sweet spot: its either the pin thing for filling up the ball on a serve to make a floater (when the ball goes crazy and meeses the f*** up with the other team)

    Whistle: not too sure

ITime and whistle arent that important to me.

bellow is a good site for v-ball strategies and plays and terms

  2. To hit the ball on a diagonal means to hit it cross court.

The time one is more difficult.  The time of the time outs is 30 seconds for USAV club and FIVB international.  US high schools and colleges use 60 seconds unless the college match in on TV.  The time outs are longer for TV.

To hit the ball on the sweet spot means you hit it in the best spot on the ball and the ball is going hard where you want it to go.  The time between games (or sets) is 3 minutes.  The time for a match varies.  The time for a two out of three match average from about 50 to 65 minutes.  The time for a three out of five match average from 75 minutes to 2 hours.

A whistle is used by the referees.  To whistle a play means that the referee blew the whistle and ended the play for some violation.

  3. Diagonal means hitting the ball cross court usually to the deep corner.

I think time would refer to the time outs given to each team.

Sweet spot is a spot on the ball that will give you the optimal results if you hit it either in serving or hitting,

The whistle controls the game and the refs use the whistle to signal a plays beginning and end along with penalties and timeouts and substitutions
