  1. You can get some ideas from Threadbanger (via YouTube) or Instructables.com

Instructables.com has "instructables" on how to make furniture. If not, you can join a FreeCycle group for free furniture or buy them cheap at yard/garage/moving sales (Craiglist has listings).

Threadbangers has a lot of videos for home decor. Check them out!

Threadbanger even has a video on what to do with wood paneling when your landlord won't let you do anything do them! They said to use decals. If they're too expensive for you, online sources can tell you how to make your own.

  2. Ok.. Well because you can't paint, you can hang rods at or near the ceiling and hang fabric down the whole length of the walls or ( and this could be riskier) you could take fabric and soak it in starch. Ring out the majority of the starch than proceed to hang like wallpaper. Two problems withthe last one. You'd need really heavy fabric and I'm not sure if the starch would hold out and it could ruin the paneling. I'd hang fabric from the ceiling. Can't afford rods? Staple the fabric up and pleat as you go. It will give you a very romantic soft look. Use a coupon from JoAnn Fabrics or another store when you buy the fabric or look for clearance. Good Luck.

  3. op shops are best - you could get loads of old scarves and sometimes lace bedspreads that can be used to give an old world romantic feel with the wood panel creams are best

  4. thrift stores have good finds and you can paint it any color you like.  Find a cheap source for sheets and use those for curtains.  Cut a piece of round plywood and glue it to a stool to use as a bedside table.  Use two pretty pieces of finished fabric, one round (to the floor), one square on top, as tablecloths.  The bottom one can be a floral print, the top one solid.  A pretty lamp, bedside rug(s).

Keep the TV out of the bedroom - not romantic nor good for sleeping.

Make your bedroom a haven, to be used only for sleeping and romance.
