  1. keep it simple and don't let every body have an invitation or else you will regret it i did  and ended up with around 350 people and a large bill

  2. how about hiring a river boat?

  3. do you have a nice back yard, or does any of your friends, you can spend your money on decorating the place and light it up nicely,

or just go to Vegas as a group and make a fun trip out of it.

    Congrats, peace be with you

  4. There is a very nice hotel on the Thames at Sonning, I think it's called the The Great House, it is an expensive place but the setting is beautiful for a wedding.

There is Phyllis Court club in Henley-on-Thames, nice setting again, has many different size rooms for functions, I have been to a couple of weddings there myself - very nice. Not sure of the prices though.

The Swan at Streatly is very nice.

There are many different pubs along the Thames if you want a more informal do.

Hope this helps - good luck!

  5. How about a nice hotell?

ive been to many wedding's & wedding reception's in hotells and they are really nice.

  6. If you need a set dresser I can help...

I know what you said about the internet but try www.squaremeal.co.uk

You can put in river view and other requirments for your venue.

  7. How about a small bride and groom and some small guests.

  8. i think a Wendy House might be appropiate on your budget?

  9. get better ideas on this webpage

  10. You do not say when you are getting married, you could buy a marque and set it up yourself, flowers lights, floor. Argos do them, after you can use it for garden parties.

  11. Many pubs in London will let you have their function room free, if you can guarantee a certain number of guests - they then make their money on the food and having extra drinkers in, and you get a private room.  Others (like the Samuel Pepys /www.thesamuelpepys.co.uk/bookings/index... have a minimum spend, so if you know you are going to be paying for a restaurant meal anyway, then you get exclusive use of the space.

These rooms can be quite small, and I'll bet some of them would let you dress the room, too.  Try dropping into ones you fancy and asking.

  12. Are there public parks?  Do you have any friends who live along the river?
