I am trying to come up with a menu of tropical foods.

I want to incorporate some Jamaican, Key West, Cuban, and any other Caribbean dishes.

Got any ideas?

  1. The best place to try is by googling Soul Food.

So many recipes, you will be spoiled for choice.

    Good luck.

  2. Fried Plantains belong in the diet of these regions.

Black beans with pork, you can pop dried black beans with some pork into a crock pot for 8 to 10 hours. Add some chicken broth.

    Rice also is served frequently.

Then just go with all the wonderful tropical fruit.

Fish or shrimp with mango or tamarind sauce.

You can also make an orange, green mango and coconut chutney.

    MMMMM!

  3. Jmabalaya,

    cajun shrimp popcorn,

caribean chicken - with banana, curry paste, coconut and pineapple.

    Fried plaintain chips,

sweet potato wedges with or without cajun spice,

    corn on the cob,

    blackened pork,

    fried dumplings -

most of the recipes are on www.cookeryclub.co.uk

they have a Caribbean, cajun and american section.
